Miniature Smart Rotary ActuatorThe Hig-Mover miniature smart rotary actuator from Higbie Labs is a direct-drive smart rotary stage with a unique octagonal housing.

The device offers versatile mounting options in a 116- × 53.15-mm package with a 22-mm through-bore. A motor, drive electronics, and 18-bit absolute encoder are built in. Being fully integrated, multiple movers can be daisy-chained over a single Ethernet-style cable carrying serial control and power. Thanks to their internal slip rings, two or three movers can be nested together.

With a peak torque of 12 ft-lbs, the Hig-Mover stage is suited for applications such as camera mounts, optical positioning, material handling, inspection automation, test and measurement, and animatronics.
