Avantes has announced the AvaSpec-Micro, a spectrometer measuring only 38.5 ml.

The newest addition to the CompactLine is 30 percent the size of its predecessor, the AvaSpec-Mini. It offers a resolution of up to 0.8 nm with a 2500-pixel detector. Available wavelength ranges are 370 to 750 nm for visible light and 225 to 850 nm for UV/VIS measurements.

The instrument is suitable for OEM applications and is powered by a standard USB 2.0 connection, which also is used for data transfer. For industry applications, four configurable digital I/O ports are available. It weighs 58 g and comes standard with a 20-μm entrance slit.
