Introduced by Ocean Optics Inc., the USB2000+ miniature fiber optics spectrometer measures optical properties within a wavelength band of 200 to 1100 nm. The device includes a 2-MHz analog-to-digital converter, programmable electronics, a 2048-element CCD-array detector and a USB 2.0 port. For use in monitoring high-speed chemical and biochemical reactions, the detector can capture and store 1000 scans, or full spectra, per second and offers a resolution of 0.35 nm with FWHM image sharpness.
