Interspectrum OU has unveiled the Interspec 408, an educational Fourier transform infrared/near-infrared (FTIR/NIR) modular spectrometer for teaching spectroscopy in science and university labs. With a wave number range of 7800 to 380 cm—1 and spectral resolution of 2 cm—1, the interferometer module with detector system and power supply forms an open path sample chamber modular spectrometer that can use any FTIR accessory available on the market. It has a transparent plastic cover that allows visual access to all of its major parts, a 25-mm collimated output beam, a multicoated potassium bromide beamsplitter, a high-intensity ceramic infrared source and a USB interface.
