MonochromatorThe Newport Oriel® 77250B Series Monochromator from MKS Instruments Inc. is a manually operated 1/8-m instrument designed for general-purpose laboratory use and all basic research applications requiring light of a single wavelength.

A large family of slits and gratings are available to meet any application’s resolution, throughput, and wavelength requirements. The versatile monochromator leaves the factory fully assembled, pre-aligned, and ready for immediate use. Its resolution and low stray light are ideal for research and university labs. It is available with fixed width slits or adjustable, μm-driven slit assemblies at the input and output ports. A manually operated smooth knob adjusts the position of the grating inside the monochromator. An integrated four-digit counter displays the wavelength with 0.1-nm resolution adjustment.

Each diffraction grating is carefully aligned and bonded to its holder. Both the grating holder and the instrument are designed with precise mechanical tolerances, allowing gratings to be easily installed and exchanged at any time.
