The BinOptics Monolithic Diplexer chip reduces the cost of the ONU in FTTH PON systems. A 1310nm HCSEL surface-emitting FP laser with monitor photodetector and a 1490-nm PIN detector are integrated on a single compact chip. The diplexer operates bidirectionally at 1.25 Gb/s and is designed for use in a TO-can package. Engineering samples are available now with volume production scheduled for later this year.
