Motion ControllersThe ICAD series of integrated motion controllers and drivers from Optimal Engineering Systems Inc. is designed for two-phase stepper motors.

Available as one-, two-, three-, or four-axis modules, the devices are ideal for NEMA 8 to NEMA 42 stepper motors. The compact, 6 × 8-in., plug-and-play controllers incorporate high-resolution micro-stepping drivers for precise positioning. Other features include home and limit switches per axis, joystick interfaces, TTL/CMOS inputs and outputs, quadrature encoder feedback, and USB and optional Ethernet interfaces. A single power supply provides +48 VDC for high speed operation.

Additional features include low power consumption, auto current reduction, high-torque and high-speed capabilities, and serial, manual, or host control. Modes of motion include point-to-point positioning, jogging, and coordinated motion.
