Multi-Spectral Prism CamerasThe FS-3200D-10GE and FS-1600D-10GE multi-spectral prism cameras from JAI Inc. feature two-channel dichroic prisms that divide the incoming light to two precisely-aligned CMOS area scan imagers.

One channel captures light from the visible spectrum in the 400- to 670-nm spectral range and delivers it to a Bayer color sensor, while the second channel directs light from the NIR portion of the spectrum in the 740- to 1000-nm spectral range to a monochrome, NIR-sensitive sensor. The FS-3200D-10GE features Bayer and monochrome versions of the Sony Pregius IMX252 CMOS sensor offering 3.2-MP resolution and a maximum full frame rate of 123 fps for 8-bit output. The FS-1600D-10GE features Bayer and monochrome versions of the Sony Pregius IMX273 CMOS sensor with 1.6-MP resolution and a maximum full frame rate of 226 fps for 8-bit output.

This prism camera design enables multi-spectral analysis to be easily applied to a wide range of machine vision inspection tasks without the cost of multiple setups and without the challenges of filter-wheel models.
