Nikon Instruments Inc. has introduced the AZ100 Multizoom micro/macro imaging microscope for studies of subjects ranging in size from whole animals to single cells. The instrument features a wide field of view, long working distances, low chromatic aberration, magnification from 5x to 500x and an 8:1 optical zooming magnification ratio. The triple-place nosepiece supports objective lens interchangeability. Telecentric optics create consistently sized images of objects regardless of their distance and maintain a constant angle of view across the entire field. Constant image magnification and geometry enable the precise determination of object size independent of its position in the field of view. Supporting a variety of observation techniques, the unit is suitable for use in systems biology and regenerative medicine.
