Photron has announced the FASTCAM Multi, a flexible, multihead camera system that permits high resolution, increased frame-rate performance and high-speed imaging in spaces too small for a traditional one-piece, standalone high-speed camera.

Images are captured with megapixel resolution up to 6,000 frames per second. The FASTCAM’s processor is separate from the sealed camera heads, ensuring safe storage of data in the event of camera head or cable damage during the capture of an explosive, high-speed event.

The camera system is ideal for applications such as off-board automotive safety testing, detonation and explosives testing, as well as any high-speed image capture in confined, demanding environments. It is also ideal for use in microscopy, life sciences, biomechanics, fluid dynamics, material sciences and digital image correlation.
