Multichannel PER Meter

The PEM-400 from Santec is a multichannel polarization extinction ratio (PER) meter designed for the high-volume testing of polarization maintaining (PM) components, including fiber array units and external laser small form-factor pluggables. The meter features an optical detector that allows a 12-fiber device under test to be assessed in under 30 seconds, as well as a 30 dB PER dynamic range and a built-in multichannel PM source. For passive component testing, the PEM-400 offers a multichannel polarized source selectable at either 1310 nm or 1550 nm, with configurations supporting up to 24 outputs.
