Avantes BV’s multichannel spectrometer combines multiple spectrometers in one housing for applications where high resolution with a broad range is needed in combination with a synchronized measurement, such as plasma measurements and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) configurations.

Up to 10 spectrometers can be combined in a standard 19-in. rack mount. The total number of spectrometers connected to a single computer is only limited by USB, memory or processor limitations of the host computer.

The spectrometer systems can be equipped with trigger options, with one spectrometer triggering another or being triggered by an external event; a master/slave configuration option is also available. In the company’s AvaSoft software, all spectrometer channels can be combined into one graph, making one virtual spectrometer.
