TOKYO, Oct. 2, 2019 — Multi-Fiber Optical Connectivity ComponentsSumitomo Electric Industries’ AirMT™ multifiber optical connectivity technology from Senko Advanced Components Ltd. aims to solve connectivity problems of existing multifiber push-on (MPO) connectors.

The technology guarantees a low insertion loss of <0.5 dB and a return loss of <55 dB, which is comparable to regular physical contact MPO connectors. The components are ideal for in-equipment fiber management and backplane, as well as multifiber connections in harsh environments with high vibration levels.
