PointSource.jpgPoint Source has upgraded its iFlex-Viper multilaser engine to include an integral power supply with a USB interface and a choice of power ratings up to 70 mW per channel. The device incorporates up to six laser wavelengths, covering the VIS range from 405 to 640 nm, and it delivers each wavelength simultaneously or individually via a single-mode fiber optic cable. Suitable for OEMs in the biotechnology sector, it can be used with a broad range of instrumentation. It includes a choice of diode and/or diode-pumped solid-state lasers, full modulation capability on each line, optical power stability of <2% over 8 h and optical noise of 0.25% rms. Offering a 5000-h lifetime, it is mode-hop-free and wavelength-stabilized as a result of active temperature control. Analog modulation up to 1 MHz is available.
