MANNHEIM, Germany, Aug. 14, 2012 — With the Sony ICX455 sensor used in the VRmS-14, VRmagic GmbH opens up new applications for its multisensor cameras. Providing 1.25-megapixel resolution, the ?-in. sensor is suitable for complex applications that require high detail accuracy. Available in monochrome and color, the CCD sensor with interline transfer technology delivers up to 15 fps and exhibits increased sensitivity to infrared light.

The ½-in. MT9M001 CMOS sensor from Aptina integrated into the VRmS-9 captures 17 fps at 1288 × 1032-pixel resolution and offers low power consumption.

Multisensor cameras consist of a base unit, which can be equipped with up to four remote sensors that are connected with a flex-foil cable and that can be freely positioned. Data is transmitted via LVDS, enabling acquisition of pixel-synchronous images from different angles. The image data is coordinated on a field-programmable gate array module with 256 MB of RAM. USB versions and Linux-based intelligent models are offered.

All models are equipped with the DaVinci processor from Texas Instruments.
