Vixar has released a line of multiwavelength lasers packaged in small-form-factor housing for sensing, spectroscopy and medical sensing applications. The lasers include three emitters packaged in an industry-standard TO-46 housing and operate at 670-, 795- and 850-nm wavelengths. Beam divergence is less than 20° and the spectral width is 0.1 nm. The instruments are available in two options, a high-efficiency version for settings requiring low power consumption and a high-optical-output power version for higher-loss environments. They operate from 0 to 60 °C and deliver a continuous average current of 5 to 10 mA.
