Daylight Solutions Inc. has expanded its Aries series high-power multiwavelength mid-IR lasers to include the Aries-200, -400 and -700 models. The modularity of the devices provides customizable performance in wavelength and power. Users can choose to populate one, two, four or seven laser sockets with any wavelength and power that the company offers. Populating all seven sockets in the Aries-700 can provide >10 W of continuous-wave, air-cooled mid-IR laser power. The turnkey systems can be configured for high power at a single wavelength or to deliver up to seven wavelengths simultaneously and collinearly. The Aries-100 air-cooled 2-W laser is CDRH-approved and ready for laboratory use. The other models are OEM systems. Applications include standoff detection, free-space communications, infrared countermeasures, thermal imaging and scene generation.
