Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc. has unveiled the SALD-7001, a nanoparticle analyzer equipped with a 405-nm violet semiconductor laser. The device continuously analyzes size distribution of fine, ultrafine and nanoparticles that are used in coatings, pigments, food, beverages, drugs and cosmetics. It uses the laser diffraction method to determine sizes from 15 nm to 500 μm. Users can choose from the flow cell, the batch cell or the high-concentration sampling cell model, depending upon the objects to be measured. Operating temperature is from 10 to 30 °C.
