The Prior NZ100 nanopositioning piezo Z-stage, designed for deconvolution and 3-D imaging, is available from Prior Scientific Inc. It features 100-µm travel, 1-nm repeatability and closed-loop control using a subangstrom-resolution piezoresistive sensor. The stage, part of the ProScan II series, is USB or analog controllable and can be used with most software packages programmed to control piezo objectives. The company says that it allows faster movement and sample settling time because of lower mass movement, enabling Z-stacks to be imaged with multiple objectives.
