The Tempo laser interferometer/vibrometer is an instrument that can remotely measure subnanometer amplitude vibrations at frequencies ranging from kilohertz to gigahertz. Offered by Bossa Nova Technologies LLC, it can process highly speckled beams scattered from rough surfaces, making sensitive measurements independent of surface quality. It is suitable for noncontact ultrasonic measurement of composites, ceramics, and rough or brushed metals. Both free-space and fiber-coupled versions are available.
