Handheld Night Observation
HAIFA, Israel, Nov. 20, 2009 – For law enforcement, patrol and anti-terror missions, Elbit Systems Ltd. has unveiled NOX, a handheld night observation system that can identify details such as facial features and license plates in total darkness, even in adverse weather conditions.

The system is based on unique night vision technology, combining sensitive sensors, lasers, cameras and advanced image processing capabilities. The gating technology and connectivity enable precise object identification. The system is portable and lightweight, and it operates on commercial batteries, eliminating the need for a fixed power source.

It is suitable for use by border guard and coast guard forces, and by customs police. It also is used by events security providers for major international sporting and other events.
