JENA, Germany, March 20, 2015 — Piezosystem Jena NV40/3ASI and ASC are new functions for automatic sensor identification and system calibration, respectively, for piezoelectric nanopositioning controllers from Piezosystem Jena.

The functions provide the ability to interchange single parts of a system without new calibration. Actuators for an ASI-compatible amplifier incorporate an external preamplifier. The ASI function is available for the digital amplifiers NV40/3 (pictured), NV120/1, and NV40/1 series.

For digital amplifiers, the ASC function saves parameters such as actuator name, motion axis, serial number and filter settings for the calibration. The amplifier identifies not only the actuator, but also its specific calibration data.
