TeraXion has developed a laser source that allows single-frequency operation of a semiconductor distributed feedback (DFB) laser diode. The TN-NLL system enables reduction of the optical linewidth of a TN-NLL-Web.jpgDFB diode laser while preserving the reliability and low-cost benefits of the semiconductor technology, the company said, and is comparable to more complex sources, such as fiber lasers and diode-pumped solid-state lasers. The product is suitable for applications in which very narrow linewidth, low-phase noise and long coherence are required.
