First Light Imaging has unveiled C-RED 3, an uncooled SWIR camera optimized for low SwaP-C (Size, Weight, Power, and Cost).
C-RED 3 is using a state-of-the-art TECless InGaAs sensor with 70+% QE from 0.9 to 1.7 µm
combined with < 50e- readout noise, a 15 μm pixel pitch and a fast electronic shutter with integration times <1 μs.
C-RED 3 runs up to 600 fps at full 640 x 512 resolution making it well-suited for high-speed applications where short exposure times are needed.
The camera allows for windowing in both directions, thus allowing even higher fps, i.e ~2kHz @ 256 x 256 or ~10kHz @ 64 x 64 pixels.
Applications include:
Night vision, long range surveillance/tracking, active imaging, UAV Mounting/Drones,
imaging through cloud/smoke, solar cell/semiconductor inspection, quality control, non-destructive inspection,
environmental monitoring, secure laser communication, astronomical observation, adaptive optics, counterfeiting, and much more.
