Deep-Cooled InGaAs Camera/Detectors
FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 5, 2009 – BaySpec Inc. has unveiled the Nunavut InGaAs camera/detector line that enables low-light spectroscopy in the near-infrared region. Optimal cooling of the detector arrays allows for improved low-light spectral measurements and results in a better than 250× improvement in the signal-to-noise performance.
The devices are available in 900 to 1700-nm, 1100 to 2200-nm and 1250 to 2500-nm linear array configurations. They perform real-time spectral data acquisition and offer long-lifetime operation. The hermetic vacuum sealing ensures reliable operation in harsh environments.
The cameras/detectors can be soft-cooled to -20 °C, deep air cooled to -55 °C or, optionally, water-cooled to -90 °C. They run on a single 5-V power supply. Each camera is calibrated in the factory after extensive thermal cycling. The control electronics read out the processed digital signal to extract required information. Both the raw data and the processed data are available to the host.
The Nunavut line complements the SuperGamut near-IR and Raman spectrometers, enabling fast, high-throughput and cost-effective low-light spectroscopy. The cameras use low-cost field-proven components.
