Analog Modules Inc. has announced the release of its Model 763 OEM seed laser diode driver.

The pump laser diode driver drives 14-pin butterfly-packaged laser diode modules or semiconductor optical amplifiers for use in continuous-wave or pulsed fiber master oscillator power amplifier and erbium-doped fiber amplifier systems. It is implemented as a transconductance amplifier (analog voltage in, scaled current out), with operation up to 1.2 A, 3 V, and pulsewidths down to 10 ns.

The driver circuitry operates from a single 5-V power source. All other required voltages are generated on the board by high-efficiency switching power supplies. The 763 is manufactured to the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC requirements.
