OPTICAL CRYSTALS

INO's periodically poled lithium niobate crystals generate optical frequency conversion by creating quasi-phase matching between two optical signals. The crystals can be used with an optical parametric oscillator to make a frequency-tunable laser source, or they can be used to create a second-harmonic generation of a laser signal. Other applications include sum and difference frequency generation. The crystals are available with antireflective coatings, with optically polished end faces, and with standard and custom periods ranging from 6 to 40 µm, with the possibility for more than one period on the same substrate. The length varies from 1 to 40 mm with a thickness of 0.5 mm.
