The Code V 9.8 optical design software from Optical Research Associates includes features to improve the modeling and optimization of optical systems. It builds on the diffraction-based image simulation function by allowing macro access to the simulated image pixel data. A broad range of built-in macro functions for manipulating this data enables users to combine multiple images, adjust gamma, compensate for known detector characteristics and extract various parameters of the simulated image, including color and luminance values. A macro function that accesses the program’s fast wavefront differential tolerancing capability enables designers to optimize a system for the best fabricated performance. Additional language options are provided.
