BEA-Lasers.jpgDiffractive optical elements from Bea Lasers Inc. include crosses and rectangular frames that provide accurate alignment in four-corner applications that require exact 90° angles. Custom geometric designs also are available. The beamsplitters and -shapers, Fourier holograms, diffusers and gating structures can split or reshape light to almost any desired distribution. The diffractive optics are smaller and lighter than lenses, prisms or aspheres. Besides lasers, they modulate partially coherent light from LEDs and other light sources. They are manufactured from acrylate on polymethyl methacrylate that is crack- and scratch-resistant, resulting in light transmission of 91%.
