Breault Research Organization Inc. has released Version 6.0 of its ASAP optical engineering and analysis software. This program allows the user to design, analyze and prototype optical systems within the same system. A new graphical user interface and an improved Help function open up the system to not only optical engineers, but mechanical and electrical engineers as well. Additional features include a builder that allows users to create system geometry in one window, an IGES translator, Radiant Sources for more accurate modeling, and kernel enhancements for advanced modeling options. ASAP/Basic, ASAP/Pro, ASAP/CAD and ASAP/Optical modules are available to suit the needs of different applications.
