TRING, England, July 1, 2013 — Specialised Imaging Ltd.’s OT3 optical trigger is a battery-driven portable system that can be isolated from interference from ground loops, noise spiking and brownout. It is suitable for use with high-speed cameras on proofing ranges.

The sensor is a blue-enhanced array of 12 diodes with a spectral response from 300 to 1300 nm. A 700-nm cutoff filter reduces the range, making the device less likely to saturate from high IR sources such as clouds.

The trigger can be used as an IR muzzle flash detector or a sky-screen detector. The sky-screen reference can be artificial (e.g., white board or an LED light array), removing operational dependence on good weather.
