Object Recognition SystemEVT Eye Vision Technology GmbH has announced the EyeSense Presence object recognition system.

The device can recognize various objects, in any position, on a conveyor, without teaching-in. The sensor measures the time it takes the light to be reflected back from the object. The light source and the image recording are synchronized, allowing distance extraction and calculation from the image data.

The EyeSense PresenceBT features a resolution of 160 × 120, while the EyeSense PresenceBA provides a resolution of 640 × 480. The BT sensor features a frame rate of 40 Hz with a range of 0 to 3 m, and the BA sensor features a frame rate of 20 Hz with a range of 0 to 13 m.

Applications include factory automation to optimize production processes, 3D dimensioning, scanning, inspection and bin-picking.
