Optical Analysis and Design SoftwareVersion 21.2 of the TracePro® 2021 software from Lambda Research Corp. further enhances optical analysis by streamlining the prototype-to-manufacturing process and combining an intuitive 3D CAD interface with ray tracing, advanced utilities, and seamless interoperability with other mechanical design programs.

The Image Source feature enables TracePro users to use image files as light sources. Image files can be inserted into a model and rays are emitted from the image with flux and wavelength determined by the color and intensity of each pixel. Image Source works with all ray tracing and analysis features, and is especially useful for engineers who are designing heads-up displays, augmented reality, and virtual reality systems, or any other application where time-accurate image source modeling is important.

The Interactive Optimizer feature continues its development with user interface improvements and conveniences, and the Lighting Toolkit has been enhanced with the addition of FMVSS 108 regulations.
