DALGETY BAY, Scotland, Feb. 2, 2022 — Optical Beam ShaperThe Light Tunnel Generator from PowerPhotonic Ltd. is an optical beam shaper that improves high-power laser cutting and welding.

The system saves costs by improving efficiency and effectiveness. It creates a ring-shaped spot, which is maintained over such a long distance that it creates a light tunnel. The input beam is assumed to be super Gaussian in profile and matched to the design input diameter. It features 95% shaping efficiency and >20 kW of continuous-wave, high-power handling.
