Optical ComparatorThe HB400 Benchtop Optical Comparator from the L.S. Starrett Co. features expanded X-axis travel for the measurement of larger parts on its workstage.

Available with optical edge detection, the HB400 features a 16-in. diameter viewing screen, 16-in. horizontal travel, 6-in. Y-axis travel, 2-in. focus travel and a 110 lb. workstage load capacity. With an all-metal construction, a hard-anodized stage tooling plate, and an LED profile and surface lighting rated to 50,000 hours, the rugged device also features touch-screen operation. A linear encoder glass scale is featured on both the X- and Y-axes.

The Starrett HB400 has a single bayonet style lens mounting system that accepts a choice of six fixed interchangeable lenses, as well as OV2 Zoom or TOV2 fixed telecentric magnification video camera systems.
