Optical Design SoftwareVersion 7.7 of TracePro optical design software from Lambda Research Corp. features a new plot viewer and an automotive lighting toolkit, with more accurate 3D visualization of output performance of luminaire or light pipe design.

The Candela viewer allows users to view previously saved angular plots and simulation-mode ray traces, giving them access to the luminous intensity or flux-per-solid angle of previous designs.

TracePro's automotive toolkit provides analysis for automotive lighting systems, such as headlamps using ECE, SAE and FMVSS standards. It also provides visualization tools and regulation tables to certify the meeting of standards for simulated results.

The software includes improvements to photorealistic rendering capability through enhancing contrast viewing with a gamma slider and display of luminance values.
