iPhysicist’s optical erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) provides remote management, enabling real-time information about work channels and full control through the Internet.

The device, which can be fully customized, interfaces with auxiliary optics including VOA (variable optical attenuator), DCM (dispersion compensation module) and mux/demux. The BA (booster amplifier) and PA (preamplifier) fixed-gain EDFAs share one electrical control to maximize functionality.

The BA’s output is 23 dBm and the PA’s, 5 dBm. The two power supplies (AC/DC inputs) work on load sharing. The communication ports include RS-232 and RJ-45.
