The Chameleon Compact OPO-Vis, an optical parametric oscillator (OPO) from Coherent Inc., includes an optional fully integrated second-harmonic-generation accessory that provides automated frequency doubling of the OPO and the Chameleon laser output. When used in conjunction with the Chameleon ultratunable one-box laser, it provides an automated tuning range of 340 to 1600 nm, with simple touch-screen controls and no manual intervention. It provides hundreds of milliwatts of output power over most of its tuning range, which can be expanded to cover the mid-IR region between 1750 and 4000 nm. Chameleon one-box Ti:sapphire lasers have a tuning range of 680 to 1080 nm, which can be extended toward shorter wavelengths with the addition of frequency doubling and tripling options as well as toward longer wavelengths with an OPO.
