Optical Phantom

INO has launched the BioMimic optical phantom, which replicates the optical properties of human and animal tissue. Based on optical-quality polymers, the solid phantom incorporates visible and near-infrared absorbing dyes and TiO2 scatterers to re-create a variety of tissues. It is suitable for systems calibration, and its applications include Monte Carlo simulation, absorbance and scattering property determination, time-resolved fluorescence measurement and fluorescence spectral calibration.
