SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2015 — Finisar Corp. has announced a optical transceiver module for 400-Gigabit Ethernet applications.

The CFP8 module enables single- and multimode applications at 6.4 Tb/s on a 1RU host system card. It can also support high-density 4 × 100-Gb/s fan-out applications with double the 100-Gb port density of QSFP28, while providing the flexibility to also support 400-Gb/s as service providers upgrade their networks.

The company has also introduced upgraded software for its WaveAnalyzer 1500S high-resolution optical spectrum analyzer that includes an Android app for remote access.
