VICTOR, N.Y., Aug. 27, 2015 — Bristol Instruments 828BAble to measure absolute wavelength to an accuracy of 1 pm, the 828B optical wavelength meter from Bristol Instruments Inc. is suitable for use with wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) lasers.

The device maintains accuracy over long periods of time by calibrating with a built-in wavelength standard, resulting in a confidence level of 99.7 percent. Wavelengths are measured at rates as high as 1 kHz and time resolution as short as 1 ms.

Applications include WDM testing and manufacturing.
