Seven types of optical blocks for use with photomultiplier
tube modules are available from Hamamatsu Corp. The compact devices can be combined
to meet the specifications of various applications. The series includes an adapter
block, a beam expander, a neutral density filter block for light attenuation, combinable
bandpass or long-pass filters, four dichroic filter blocks, and a beamsplitter block
with a cubic half-mirror to split the incident light beam into reflected and transmitted
beams at a ratio of 1:1. A fiber adapter block enables users to link a ferrule connector
to a module and includes a lens to collimate light from the fiber.
