Lambda Research Corp.’s TracePro Expert software was designed for life sciences instrumentation and for medical devices. It models the propagation of light in imaging and nonimaging optomechanical systems. Models are created by importing from a lens design or CAD program or by creating the solid geometry in the software. Source rays propagate through the model with portions of the flux of each ray allocated for absorption, specular reflection, transmission, fluorescence and scattering. The software can model and analyze systems incorporating fluorescent materials and biological tissue. Applications include biosensors, molecular spectroscopy, laser scanning microscopy, and medical imaging and endoscopy.
