BELFAST, Northern Ireland, July 16, 2013 — Andor Technology plc has launched its Optically Centred Crop Mode technology for its iXon Ultra EMCCD platform, offering fast region-of-interest (ROI) frame-rate performance for live-cell superresolution microscopy.

Available on the iXon Ultra 897 camera, the technology enables centrally located ROI performance; for example, 569 fps is achievable from a 128 × 128 ROI — a factor of 2 to 3 times faster than with other EMCCD cameras, the company said.

The technology also is suitable for fast applications such as ion signaling, fluorescence correlation microscopy and astronomy adaptive optics.
