Merck KGaA has announced semitransparent gray-colored organic photovoltaic (OPV) modules for architects and designers.
A new lisicon formulation enables greater power generation of more than 50 W/m2 in semitransparent Belectric OPV modules. Using gray freeform modules, the device comprises several laminated glass panes mounted with steel ropes to create a lightweight, curtain-wall facade.
The devices allow designers and architects to build energy-generating buildings.
