The DPO70000SX 70-GHz ATI performance oscilloscope by Tektronix Inc. provides ultrahigh-bandwidth, real-time signal acquisition and analysis up to 70-GHz analog bandwidth. The instrument is suited for application areas including high-speed coherent optical systems, wideband radar and high-energy physics.

The oscilloscope features the company’s Asynchronous Time Interleaving (ATI) technology, which preserves signal-to-noise ratio for higher fidelity, allowing users to more accurately capture and measure their signals at higher speeds. The compact instrument offers a 200-gigasamples-per-second rate with 5-picoseconds-per-sample resolution. It can be positioned close to the device under test while providing flexible display and control for analysis. Shorter cable lengths help to preserve signal fidelity at very high frequencies.

The scalable system incorporates the company’s UltraSync architecture, providing precise data synchronization and enabling operation of multiunit systems. Precise multichannel timing synchronization is important for meeting signal acquisition requirements in applications such as 100-G and faster coherent optical modulation analysis.
