PCX-7401 Laser Diode Driver

IXYS Corp. has introduced the PCX-7401, a laser diode driver and current source with accurate microprocessor-based digital power control.

The benchtop instrument is air-cooled and features separate pulse and bias current adjustment to drive diode lasers, bars and arrays up to 3 A with a bias (simmer) current up to 0.5 A at 15 V maximum forward voltage. It enables a range of lower-current laser diode applications for research, laboratory, science and industry.

Users can develop automated testing and characterization configurations that can be stored in the instrument’s onboard memory. It also may be operated through its intuitive front panel controls. The color LCD provides immediate visual confirmation of all operating parameters.
