Luvantix manufactures some of the lowest index polymer claddings available for high-NA (numerical aperture) applications. Our lowest index product, PC 370, has a cured index of 1.370 at 850 nm. This results in NAs over 0.48 when employed with pure silica cores. PC 370 has high transmission and is useful for hard-clad silica applications, whether for fiber lasers or for transmission of other high-optical power lasers. PC 370 can also be used for recladding optical fibers that have been stripped for splicing, connectorizing or writing Bragg gratings. PC 370 is an established, standard product of Luvantix and is in stock now. These and our other polymer claddings offer indices ranging from 1.370 to 1.444.
