Toptica.jpgReleased by Toptica Photonics AG, the FFI PicoFYb is a picosecond ytterbium fiber laser for seeding medical and industrial laser systems for applications including ophthalmology, optical sampling and micromachining. It operates from 980 to 1080 nm with typical seed power of 50 mW, typical repetition rates from 15 to 50 MHz, typical pulse duration from 0.5 to 10 ps and typical spectral width from 0.2 to 15 nm. The laser pulses can be amplified to the multiwatt level in second-source master oscillator power amplifier laser systems. Typical amplifiers are slab, rod and disk lasers in the 1- or 1.5-μm-wavelength regions.
