NEPTUNE CITY, N.J., Nov. 20, 2023 — KrellTech PICs Polishing PlatformThe GEO system from KrellTech is designed for polishing PIC optical components. Its work holder fixtures provide adjustable mounting mechanisms to accommodate varying chip dimensions, while taking into consideration the fragile and sensitive waveguide surface features. Able to be controlled remotely through tablet control, the system offers both manual and programmed modes for polishing. The GEO also uses an integrated vision system to check for quality assurance while the PICs and optical waveguides are still loaded in the work holder fixture. A "manual" mode is intended for initial process development. "Programmed" modes allow for seamless deployment into production environments.
